Hancock and Moore Furniture History
Hancock and Moore Furniture Company was started in 1981 by Jimmy Moore, a furniture maker enthusiast. As a young man, he perfected his techniques of building custom furniture in his home in Western North Carolina. In fact, Jimmy wanted to learn every aspect of furniture making, from building frames, to finishing and even sewing and upholstery.
His eye for detail and passion led him to creating excellent upholstered sofas, chairs, recliners and ottomans. In both the materials and in the manufacturing, Hancock & Moore stood out from competitors.
The hardwood maple frames inside each chair, eight way tied springs and high end foam, fabrics and leather made vintage Hancock & Moore one of the best, and pricier, options for American living rooms. Almost every piece of furniture that comes out of the Hancock & Moore spends over 80 hours in the production phases. This labor intensive process produces something of great value.
